This archival digital print is reproduced from an oil painting of Emerald Lake which sits in the West Rosebud of the Beartooth Range not far from Granite Peak, Montana's highest peak. Monte camped for two nights on Emerald Lake one late September and this painting was the result. It was commissioned by a friend who spent time fishing with his father while growing up in Southwestern Montana. The framed original pencil on paper study for this image is still available.
