This limited edition archival digital print is part of a series of four "French Suite" prints. Monte and his deceased wife Mary Beth Percival are reflected in the glass of the cafe door of this image reproduced from and original acrylic painting. It was created after they visited the ocre-red village of Roussillon one day while driving from their home base of Lourmarin which was their home for an autumn week while in Provence. Lovely and colorful Roussillon, a source for pigments since Roman times, is a hilltop village especially known for it’s various shades of ocre. Inspired by La Treille, a local café there, Monte painted Provence Café with pigments mined nearby. The three other prints in the suite of four are Lions of Arles, Burgundy Fields and Burgundy Chapel.
