This shadow box assemblage was created after Monte Dolack traveled to Egypt in 2009. Set against Egyptian papyrus, toy figures from various contemporary cultures are arranged above a souvenir Rosetta Stone.
Monte Dolack wrote about this Egyptian series.
"Lost in Translation was made after a recent journey up the River Nile. I collected objects both on the road in Egypt as well as in Montana. Upon returning to my Montana studio I made a series of artworks, which served in processing this transformative experience and kept the journey alive in my imagination."
This assemblage is archivally framed in a wooden shadow box. To view an image of the frame, please contact the gallery at 1-406-549-3248 and to arrange shipping of original art. In certain cases, with glassed art, there may be additional shipping charges.
